folktale week 2024
Folktale week is an Instagram illustration challenge whereby artists are invited to interpret 7 prompts into a folktale style.
This years prompts were Mist, Gate, Blight, Trail, Depth, Bone and Blossom.
I was heavily inspired by the movie 'The Huntsman: Winter's War' and used a pochoir print technique for my final artwork.

Below are some of the preliminary sketches leading up to developing my final sequence.
My first step was to make a mini book recounting my inspiration imagery from memory. The sketches and compositions went through many changes, but this was a great basis to explore ideas in greater depth.
